Since I was a kid in the 80’s, my favorite cyclist- hands down. NorCal roadie, Hellyer trackie, World champ, and all around superb athlete. Thanks @lemondbikes for still being a huge inspiration. (at Pushbike Velo Club)
In a city full of characters, Frank Chu is in a class all his own. A fervent protestor, one is never quite clear what exactly Frank is protesting. His Wikipedia page mentions something about the “12 Galaxies,” but beyond that things are pretty murky. Regardless, Frank has his fans. So much so that there are Yelp reviews of folks sharing anecdotes of their chance encounters with the mysterious activist. We like to think that we wholeheartedly support whatever weirdness Frank is pushing, but to be certain, we’d need a translator.
I’ve always enjoyed having Frank around. He has always been a fervent supporter of messenger events and the community- and we always supported him. During the NACCC 2007, I asked him to sport a custom sign to advertise our event, he agreed and became the face of the t-shirt for our event. Crazy as people think Frank is, I’ve always supported him and hope he can find the appropriate audience for his lawsuit against the president and the 90,780,000,000 Galaxies.
